Tomer Azarly, from ClutchPoints, commented yesterday that Montrezl Harrell was worth a point lower than Kuzma and Atlanta Hawks player John Collins in his tweet. Montrezl Harrell is a 6’8″ and 240lbs power forward from Tarboro, North Carolina. He starred at North Edgecombe High School and also played for Hargrave Military Academy for a year. He led the team to a 38-1 and finished the season with 25.2 points and 13.6 rebounds at North Edgecombe. Actually, Montrezl Harrell prefered to play college at Virginia Tech for coach Seth Greenberg, but unfortunately, Greenberg was fired and Montrezl Harrell chose Lousville.

Gourgiu Dieng was selected by Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2013 NBA Draft. Thus, Montrezl Harrell received recognition in the offseason leading to his sophomore year as one of the top returning players in the country. Also, he was selected by the Sporting News to the pre-season All-America 3rd Team in its 2013–14 college basketball. His averages was 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game and he earned the Karl Malone Award for the nation’s top power forward.

In the 2015 NBA Draft, Harrell was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 2nd round 32nd overall and he signed a three-year contract with the Rockets. His first experience was on October 28, in the season opener. He scored 8 points and 3 rebounds against the Denver Nuggets. He never could get the time he wanted on the court. On 3/28/2016, He received a five-game suspension for a pushing game official and then, Harrell’s new road was D-League. He received multiple assignments to the Rockets’ D-League team, Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

With the starting 2016-2017 season, He started to play more ambitious and determined. On 11/2/2016, He came from the bench and scored 17 points and 10 rebounds against the New York Knicks. On 12/30/2016, Montrezl scored his career-high with 29 points in a 140-116 win over the L.A. Clippers.

On June 28, 2017, He and six Clippers players exchanged for Chris Paul. Harrell and head coach Doc Rivers had good communication there.  On January 11, 2018, Harrell scored a season-high 25 points and dominated the inside of the court in a 121–115 win over the Sacramento Kings. On 7/24/2018, Harrell re-signed with Clippers for 2 year, $12 million contract. On October 26, 2018, He scored a career-high 30 points off the bench in a 133–113 win over the his former team Rockets. On 2/25/2019, Harrell set a new career-high with 32 points against the Mavericks. Also, Harrell finished the 2019 NBA Playoffs with 18.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

According to all this datas, we thought that Harrell absolutely deserves more than 83. Also, Montrezl Harrell’s statistics for last season were generally better than Kuzma. Harrell was also one of the “Sixth Man of the Year” nominations. There is no doubt we will see a better Harrell this season.
